Lesson 2.2 · 4:23

The terminal, gently

Goal: Open the terminal and move into your project folder with three commands.

Try it

  1. Open the terminal (Mac) or PowerShell (Windows).
  2. Type pwd and press Enter. Note the path. That's your home folder.
  3. Type ls. Can you see ai-native in the list?
  4. Type cd ai-native, then cd first-project.
  5. Type pwd again.

You're done when pwd prints the path to first-project, matching the path in your note from lesson 2.1.

Recap

  • The terminal is a typed way to move around the same folders you see in the file browser.
  • A command is one typed instruction you send with Enter.
  • pwd = where am I · ls = what's here · cd = go into.

Next lesson (2.3): install OpenCode and open it inside first-project.
