Lesson 2.1 · 4:10

Files and folders

Goal: Know that a project is just a folder, and find any folder's full address (its path).

Try it

  1. Open your file browser (Finder on Mac, File Explorer on Windows).
  2. Go to your home folder. On Mac it's the one with a house icon or your name. On Windows it's C:\Users\<your name>.
  3. Make a folder called ai-native. Inside it, make a folder called first-project.
  4. Find its path. On Mac: right-click the folder, hold the Option key, and choose Copy "first-project" as Pathname. On Windows: click the address bar at the top of File Explorer.
  5. Paste the path into a note.

You're done when you have a note with the full path to first-project, and you can read it aloud drawer by drawer.

Recap

  • A file is one saved thing. A folder holds files and other folders.
  • A project is just a folder. The agent's work is files inside it.
  • A path is the full address of a file or folder, read from the outside in.

Next lesson (2.2): the terminal, a way to move around these same folders by typing.
