Lesson 8.2 · 4:47
When to split work
Goal: Decide whether two agents can work at the same time without getting in each other's way.
Try it
Look at your app (or the practice app). Write down three improvements you'd like. For each pair, ask: same files or not?
Pick one pair that is independent. Fill in two task cards using AGENT-TASK.md: one for a builder (makes one small interface change) and one for a reviewer (reads and tests only, edits nothing). Don't start the agents yet.
You're done when you have two task cards whose "files you own" lists don't overlap, and the reviewer's list is empty.
Recap
- Split work only when the jobs don't change the same files.
- One writer per file. Others may read, never edit.
- Each agent gets a written task card, because it only knows what you give it.
Next lesson (8.3): run your builder and reviewer, then decide what goes in.
