Memory lives in files

Goal: Know that anything worth remembering goes in a file the harness can show the model.

Try it

Pick the task you wrote down in lesson 0.1.

  1. Write a 5-line note file for it using the headings above. Any notes app or text file is fine.
  2. Open a new chat in any AI chatbot you already use. Paste the note and ask: Based on this note, what should I do next?

You're done when the new chat gives a sensible next step without you explaining anything beyond the note. If it gets confused, add the missing detail to the note, not to the chat, and try once more.

Recap

  • A session starts with a clean desk. The model doesn't carry memories over.
  • Real memory lives in files that the harness, or you, puts on the desk.
  • Good notes are short: goal, done, decisions, next step, watch out.
