Lesson 1.1 · 3:15

What a model is

Goal: Know that a model reads text in and writes text out, and nothing more.

Try it

Open any AI chatbot you already use. Send this exact prompt twice, in two separate new chats:

In two sentences, explain why the sky is blue.

Compare the two replies side by side.

You're done when you can point to at least one difference in wording between the two replies, and say in one sentence why that happens. (Suggested: the model picks likely words each time, so the wording varies.)

Recap

  • A model is the AI brain. Prompt in, text out.
  • It writes what is likely, so it can sound right and still be wrong. You check.
  • Same prompt, different wording is normal.

Next lesson (1.2): chatbot vs agent. What happens when the brain can also do things.
